I am reminded of the old song, “A Daisy a Day”, each time I encounter this simple white flower with a golden center. To me, daisies are old fashioned and bring my thoughts back to my childhood and what I call an old fashioned summer.

Foxglove Display

I had been keeping an eye out for foxgloves, had not seen any until I discovered one behind a lilac bush, and then as I was preparing to dump some brush, I discovered a foxglove display just out of sight. Nature always has a treat for us if we stay aware.

Double the Pleasure

Besides a single mock orange we still have a double mock orange planted over fifty years ago. Its small blossoms are fuller than the single. I still get great pleasure from this old shrub.

Over fifty years ago my parents bought us a package of flowering shrubs from an ad on the back of a Parade Magazine. Three or so still survive, including a single mock orange that keeps spreading. Imagine our positive actions over time.
